Today we remain the most thankful people on planet earth. Can I get a witness? Somebody needs to say Amen! Our simple testimony and declaration is God’s been good. We gloriously declare again both corporately and individually – God’s been good. Like Brother David we affirm in the most positive and dynamic way – “The Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting and His truth endureth to all generations” Psalm 100:6. He is good. His love endures. His faithfulness continues throughout this most eventful year of 2020.
Indeed what a year – 2020 has been. A year which many wish could be forgotten, erased or just passed over, but to the contrary it will be a year indelibly etched upon our minds, as a year of great trauma, pain, sorrow and grief. Nevertheless we are still here, standing, triumphing and succeeding, abundantly blessed, and declaring the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. God has been persistently, overpoweringly, uncommonly good to us and we remain forever grateful. Church, may we never forget to express how grateful we are for every singular, minute blessing this year.
As I pen these brief notes I feel very inspired to say prophetically that many more are about to be astonished beyond measure, concerning that which they are about to see and experience in their own lives. Let me say, you have not seen anything yet! God is about to do some even more amazing explosive things in your life. Get ready to be amazed and astonished as He does “exceeding, abundantly above all that you ask or think. . .” Ephesians 3:20. It’s going to be beyond measure – spectacular! May we pause right here and praise Him for the beyond measure blessings we are about to receive!
In fact, has He not astonished many of us already this year as we languished in the valley of pain, disappointment and despair, causing us to rise up again and triumph. How well do I remember my bout with Covid-19 earlier this year and all the other trauma we’ve been through but God supernaturally stepped in and overruled the demons of darkness every time. Certainly, it will take more than covid-19 and all the forces of hell multiplied to wipe out God’s beloved community – His prized possession, His church! We bow our hearts in sincere gratitude to Him!
That expression beyond measure in Mark 7:37 really sums it up for me. Mark states “And were beyond measure astonished saying He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.” Jesus still astonishes us today with His multiplied works of grace in our lives every single time. “. . . Beyond measure astonished…!”
Let us then beyond measure “give Him praise and thanks for all His providential love and care and for all His astonishing works of grace in our lives! Happy Thanksgiving Season 2020.

In collaboration with our District Overseers, the Church of God of Prophecy submits to the wisdom of continuing to ‘Shelter in Place’ for the safety and protection of the flock. This is to be observed until further notice and the present virus is better contained. Should the need arise to meet, we are advised to meet in groups of no more than 10, while we strictly observe the protocols of social distancing, wearing of masks and aggressive sanitizing of our hands and surfaces frequently touched.
Please let us patiently observe these practices to keep each other safe and alive. We are reminded that we are indeed our brother’s keeper. Stay home! Stay Healthy! Stay Hopeful! We shall soon get through this! Premature re-openings of our churches seem not to be the wisest way to go at this point. Let us continue to pray, caring for each other and staying connected.
