I applaud a wonderful man of God who has had a great impact on my life, the retired, Bishop Gladstone Royal. Bishop Royal retired from the Bronx (East 165th Street) church twenty seven years ago. He was a people person which he demonstrated starting from the youngest to the oldest. He was also a Godly example to all.

Listening to the a recording of a message I preached many years ago I realized I used a trademark statement of his, "'come on Church of God!'" At first I felt little embarrassed, then I reflected on it and said to myself, there is no reason to be embarrassed because he impacted my life greatly.

It is not unusual that a person who positively impacted another would begin to take on (good) character traits of that person. So God bless you Bishop! May you be blessed with continued health, a desire to continue to serve him as you continue to minister in your nineties. Were you not supposed to be retired many decades ago? Your teachings, principles and impactful ministry, live on today through the Northeast region

This Clergy Appreciation month I would like to give special recognition to Bishop Timothy and Lady Scotton for their faithful service to the Albany Church. Thanking them for all they continue to do to build the church, support the members with prayer and love. Thank you both for you sacrifice to the ministry.

I would to applaud my Pastor, Bishop Owen Z. Martin, Pastor of The Life Worship Center Church in The Bronx, NY. Our Pastor is a good shepherd who loves his sheep (his congregation). He is a people person, a "word" preacher, always pointing us to the word. He is an evangelist as heart, reminding us of the message of Jesus. He spends a lot of time ministering to God's people, whether it's preacher or during the Altar Call. Our pastor laughs easily, and will sit down and converse with anyone at anytime. As we know he knows a lot of people from "a looong time ago" or "way, way, back". He is a great teacher who shares what he learns. I especially applaud my pastor for making great changes in our church. He made decisions to develop our emerging leaders, refreshing ministries, changing how some things are done. He is very open to new ideas and suggestions and is willing to have his leaders spearhead new initiatives. He has stood with our church through some difficult times. We have never felt that he will abandon us. Bishop has suffered for the gospel sake but heaven bears record. One last thing that stands out is how my pastor connects with the youth. He will sit with our teens and young adults and engage in any conversation with them. And the children feel so loved by him that they are looking for him after church. He never overlooks them. He is a father to many of our congregation. We applaud his wife, First Lady Paulalee Martin who is a great strength and support to him. We also applaud his two sons Jerome and Jamil who have shared their father with so many over the years. Pastor we BIG you up in this Clergy Appreciation Month. God bless you richly. Thank you so much for being our pastor, and choosing to stay our pastor!
